Freezing time: the poetry of letter writing

In a world full of technological advances and endless communication possibilities, letters retain their very special appeal. They are a personal and unique form of communication, timeless and inspiring for thoughtful moments.

Writing a letter requires a careful process of reflection – there is only one opportunity to find the right words. It is an act of attention and a clear sign of appreciation that stays in time, unlike fleeting digital messages.

In 2014, Australian author and artist Richard Simpkin initiated International Letter Writing Day to celebrate the art of the handwritten letter. Simpkin recognized the value and importance of this traditional form of communication and campaigned for people to once again find the time to write down their thoughts on paper. Letters stand for quality instead of quantity. They are proof that it’s not the quantity that counts, but the depth of the thoughts and feelings they contain.

design01 as a timeless classic

In today’s fast-paced world, there are many modern writing instruments, but design01 is like a faithful letter. It stands the test of time, is a classic that never goes out of style. With design01, we can capture the words that we often cannot express verbally. As the first in the design line, it is an eternal companion for writing and stands for timeless elegance. design01 restricts itself to the essentials. Pure writing pleasure, realized with the finest materials. Several layers of lacquer give the filigree fountain pen an incomparable optical depth for a pure color experience. The body of the fountain pen is made of brass, and the layers of lacquer are additionally polished after each layer. The solid cap is made of either sterling silver or brass.

Whether thank you notes or love letters, the magic of handwritten words and the personal touch remain incomparable. Let’s celebrate World Letter Writing Day on September 1st and honor this precious art form.
